GOOD DISPLAY CLOAK

Every day, we carry so many things with us. Bags, jackets, and smartphones. Work, schedules, notifications, and information.
Perhaps holding onto something means simultaneously losing the space to receive something new.
For this exhibition, along the approach to the venue, we have created a cloakroom featuring “hooks” crafted by a diverse group of people—architects, designers, artists, and students. Visitors can choose their favorite hook, leave their belongings, and step into the exhibition empty-handed.
Hands that hold nothing have the space to receive. By letting go of what we carry just a little, we lighten both body and mind. This is a cloakroom designed to create space before you experience the exhibition.

overview

We propose a cloakroom designed for guests visiting the venue.

This cloakroom is adjacent to the bar counter (dining/drinking space) inside the venue and is intended for those who will be eating and drinking there. Upon entering, guests leave a personal belonging at the cloakroom in exchange for a claim tag.

The countless hooks decorating the cloakroom are custom-made by creators and artists from a wide variety of genres across Japan. These hooks are also available for purchase.

To ensure security, multiple staff members are stationed at the cloakroom at all times.
