lounge

alter. sees an exhibition as more than an end in itself. By inviting visitors to spend time in the space, touch and use products, and engage in conversation, we aim to build new relationships among creators and between creators and audiences.
New this year, the lounge is a space where visitors can use some of the furniture and objects on display. Rather than viewing products from a distance, they can experience their value firsthand—by sitting, touching, and spending time with them.
The lounge will also include a studio, where exhibiting creators and guests will take part in talks throughout the event. These conversations will explore the ideas behind the projects and products, the choices of materials and techniques, and the processes through which the works took shape. Recorded live with an audience, the talks will be shared online during and after the event, building an archive that offers a deeper understanding of the exhibition and the creators’ practices.
We believe the relationships formed here—across disciplines, roles, and generations, and between emerging creators and audiences—can help nurture new cultures and markets, and become a force for change.

studio

Throughout the event, the lounge will host daily talks featuring exhibiting creators. The talks will be streamed and recorded, exploring how this year’s products and projects came to life and the practices of the creators behind them. With guests joining some of the conversations, the studio will be a place to think together about the future of design.
The talks are planned to be streamed and archived on YouTube, then released as a podcast after the event. Detailed schedules will be announced on Instagram on the day of each talk or the day before. The studio is also an opportunity to meet the exhibiting creators, so please stop by.

bar

Drinks will be available at the bar counter in the lounge. A different bartender or barista will take the counter each day, serving alcohol and coffee. We hope visitors will stay for a drink after exploring the exhibition, creating more opportunities for creators and audiences to meet and talk.
