Yusuke Kido was born in Kagoshima, Japan, in 1980. After studying at Kuwasawa Design School and working at a design studio and an Arita porcelain kiln, he founded the ceramic studio ONE KILN in 2008. His practice centers on tableware inspired by the landscape of Kagoshima, incorporating locally sourced materials such as volcanic ash from Sakurajima and clay he digs himself. In recent years, he has presented his work both in Japan and internationally while also organizing exhibitions and collaborative projects that connect food, design, and craft, sharing the culture and natural character of Kagoshima through his work.
