Yuma Kano studied Interior Architecture at Tokyo Zokei University under Kenji Oki, where he encountered the ideas of Shiro Kuramata. After graduation, he worked as an assistant to artist Yasuhiro Suzuki before establishing his own design studio.
From a single screw to fragments of the city, branches from the forest, and even human waste, Kano uncovers the latent potential embedded in overlooked materials and phenomena. Moving fluidly across scales—from macro-level concept development to microscopic material investigation—he transforms experimentation and prototyping into new forms of value.
Working across disciplines, his practice spans product design, interiors, material research, and spatial design. Through these diverse activities, he continually redefines how we perceive and experience the world through design.
